Born 1980 in Masaka, Uganda, Collin Sekajugo explores issues of social, cultural, economic and political identity in his work. In his collage paintings, Sekajugo often uses locally sourced material like polypropylene bags, denim fabric, wastepaper, and product labels.
Collin Sekajugo was awarded the Human Rights Award Uganda in 2019. His work is in the permanent collection at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC. In 2022, Sekajugo represented Uganda at the Venice Biennale (with Acaye Kerunen).
