Rebecca Horn is a pioneer of Performance and Body Art in Germany. Her oeuvre comprises objects, sculptures, paintings, drawings, installations and films. Horn's core themes are the relationship of the body to space as well as the transformation and change of living creatures, things and entire landscapes over time. Therefore, her development as an artist led her from performances to kinetic objects, moving space installations and films, often including language, sound and music. Rebecca Horn's works are unmistakable on account of the poetry of her pictorial language, her use of typical natural and technical materials, and their - often surrealistic - connection. The complexity and independence of her artistic universe makes her one of the leading artists of our times, as the many awards and exhibitions in the world's most important museums go to show.
