The work of Max Beckmann has always played a major role at Galerie Thomas. Following on from the presentation of his work in exhibitions such as the "Rheingarten Collection" in 1981 or the "Masterpieces" in 2007 and 2008, we are now presenting a solo exhibition of the important German painter to kick off the autumn season 2013. With oil paintings, watercolours, drawings and graphic works, Galerie Thomas offers an overview of the work of the artist Beckmann, who developed his own unique style and nevertheless - or perhaps because of it - achieved worldwide recognition. He was a relentless chronicler of his time, but he did not strive for a realistic portrayal, but for what he called "transcendent objectivity".
