Animals Fates: Franz Marc, Paul Klee and Gustave Flaubert at the Franz Marc Museum

Animals Fates at the Franz Marc Museum is on view from March 13^th through July 17^th 2022. The exhibition not only provides a new entry point into the museum’s permanent collection but also presents a new perspective from which to perceive the oeuvre of Franz Marc and the influence the French writer Gustave Flaubert had on his work around 1912/13. Flaubert's writing is mirrored in Marc’s drawings, watercolours and paintings, which are displayed alongside his abstract works, reflecting his desire to capture the spiritual experience inherent in this.
