Baselitz Show at Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

One of the most interesting art highlights of this spring is on view at the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. Georg Baselitz (*1938) presents here his exhibition project, in which he focuses on the nude. The painter and sculptor puts together 75 works from his oeuvre with 40 paintings with motifs of naked figures from the Kunsthistorisches Museum. In this way, the contemporary artist enters into a visual dialogue with the Old Masters and stimulates reflection on the autonomy of painting. The exhibition “Baselitz - Naked Masters” runs until June 25, 2023.
