Masterpieces VIII

We are very pleased to be able to present you a new volume from our series of “Masterpieces”, shortly before Christmas, with twelve outstanding works by important artists of the classical modern era.

With paintings by Alexej von Jawlensky, Emil Nolde, Max Pechstein, Otto Mueller and Kees van Dongen, the expressionism of the 'Brücke', the 'Blue Rider' and Fauvism dominates this time. But the Bauhaus and Surrealism are also represented by important works by Oskar Schlemmer and Max Ernst.

As a motto and companion to our catalog, we would like to send along a nice Emil Nolde quote from 1927:

"I would so much like that my pictures are more - not just random, pleasant conversation - no, that they lift and move and give the beholder a full sound of life and human existence."
