Max Beckmann. Departure

As from 25th November 2022 to 12th March 2023 the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich will be exhibiting „Max Beckmann – Departure“ – a large-scale monographic exhibition on Max Beckmann (1884–1950). Besides the museum’s own substantial collection of works by the artist, numerous materials and documents presented for the first time by the Max Beckmann Archive will accompany around 70 loans from important private and public collections in Europe and the USA. Namely, the artist’s first triptych “Departure” from the Musuem of Modern Art, New York . The exhibition is centred around theme of travel, which was of existential importance to Beckmann in both a biographical and symbolic sense. The exhibition opens on Thursday, 24th November 2022 at 7:30 pm the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich/ Germany (admission that evening is free).
