Rebecca Horn at Haus der Kunst

Rebecca Horn counts as one of the most important artists of our time. Since the early 1970s, she has developed a body of work that is as far-reaching as it is coherent, encompassing sculpture, painting, installation and performance, but also literature and film. It is this complexity and stringency, the compelling nature of her visual aesthetics and the orientation of her content that distinguish Rebecca Horn in her artistic work. Numerous exhibitions in the most important museums worldwide, participation in almost all the important exhibitions of the last decades and an impressive number of prizes and awards are only the external evidence of the relevance of her artistic work, whose independent and compelling aesthetics are unmistakable.

Ten years ago, Galerie Thomas was able to present Rebecca Horn's work on the occasion of her 70th birthday in Munich. We are delighted that the artist is now being honored with a major retrospective at the Haus der Kunst on her 80th birthday!
