"Seemaus" (Sea Mouse), ca. 1980

The "Sea Mouse" is a very rare early sculpture by Horst Antes, who invented the "Kopffüßler" (Headfooters). The artist combined the found shell of a sea mouse (Aphrodita aculeata) which he used as the head, with a sheet of gold as the bust.
